I could have never thought that my social media account on Facebook would take me too Blenders Pride Fashion Tour which is a benchmark show for most exclusive national designers across the whole country.
It was Sunday afternoon and I was just siting in front of my computer and browsing my Facebook network when I got a notification from my friend Kishan that participate and simply tell the reason why you to win couple invites passes for the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour.I just thought of random answer and submitted my response on their Facebook page and in next few hours ,I got an inbox message from BPFT team that you have nailed the contest and judges have selected you to be part of this fashion show which will showcase India’s finest designers Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna at Taj Palace,New Delhi tonight. On reading the invite ,I could not believe that I just got lucky and my Sunday will be a special one as I have only seen these fashion shows and Bollywood celebrities on TV only. All week I was seeing the add of Priyanka Chopra who is their brand ambassador on the TV and now I am going to the show where actors Saif Ali Khan will be there to walk the ramp.
I was all set in the evening and drove my car to Taj Palace where on the entrance gate ,I met one of the admins of their social team who congratulated me and handed over the show passes. One inside the hall,I could recognize various faces from Bollywood and glamour industry and fashion designers enjoying at the hall.Various designers included JJ Valaya,Neeta Lulla,Rocky S,Wendell Rodrick’s and many more.
Models getting ready for the Fashion Show-
Also there was a fashion book resource present at the main reception which described the glossary and a-z everything about fashion and fashion industry.
Around 8 pm the show started and lights went off and all the people sitting in the auditorium were told to switch off their mobile phones and guided about emergency exit. Then there was a complete silence and models started to walk on the ramp and people started taking videos and recording of the show.
On the front row, various VIP guests and fashion designers were sitting and I could see their Ranveer Singh and Soha Ali Khan too.
Rohit and Rahul came on the ramp as a regard with Saif Ali Khan who was the show stopper of the whole event and everyone was mesmerized by his personality and his walking style.Talking about the outfits,it was very attractive while looking calm and light and inspired by royal style wore by Kings and Maharajahs of India.
There was lot of appreciation from the whole crowd and audience and claps could be heard from every corner of the auditorium.I would say this fashion tour is very finest world class show which speaks about our changing lifestyles and clothing pattern and helps to appreciate our best designers and everyone who is involved in the fashion industry.
For me,It was a great evening and a unique experience of watching everything closely as never before and I would say everyone who can, should experience this once in a lifetime.
Surajkund Arts and Crafts Mela is held every year in the month of February for 15 days from 1st Feb to 15 Feb.This is one of the most famous fairs organised in Surajkund,Haryana and this initiative is part of Incredible India campaign and supported by Haryana Tourism Department for promotion of traditional arts and crafts and to motivate artists from all over the country.
During the festival various cultural programs are held everyday and people from all over the country participate in the fair to display and sell their traditional dresses and their handmade products to the locals. I visited this mela this year with my family and relatives and was overwhelmed by the number of stalls and their designer products and their creativity.
On entering the Surajkund Mela through the main gate,I felt as if it is a global village where many talented artists representing different states have assembled here to showcase their exclusive items and share their feelings with us.There was a tight security in the area as the President had came to attend the opening ceremony with chief ministers and various political leaders and tourism minister of India.Along with the Mela, the event also showcased various cultural events, folk dances and magic doll shows which reminded me of childhood days. There were also various moustache, dancing, arts and music competition for the children.
Every year there is a theme state choosen and a special pavilion is created to display its culture, monuments, traditions and beliefs. This time of the year,Goa was chosen as the theme state and special “Goa Ghar” was constructed to display Mini Goa experience.
I also had chance to have a camel ride and interact with various foreign countries artists from SAARC. I also bought a Nepalese shawl and traditional gown for my self and a purse for my wife from Sri Lankan artists.
Rajasthani stalls were most popluar and I also met person from Chattisgarhi stall who had displayed this huge Sandal and was selling courful footwear and his friend on next stall was selling colored lanterns, vase lamps, designed flower pots and hadmade jewllery and classic paintings. There were many stalls who had received State and National Award for their products from the Government of India. One thing I like about the Surajkund Mela is that the products sold by the artists here are not very costly and can be easily afforded by all sections of the society. All the tickets prices are same for everyone and just cost Rs 50 as entry ticket for the whole day.
I can say that it is most colorful fair in Delhi-NCR region and is mix combination of vivid cultures and traditions of India at a single place where you can enjoy from north to south, east to west, everything about India and can buy products and eat delicacies from all parts of th county.
Being the head and senior most Head Manager in my company,I was given the responsibility to lead my team and our organisation for a business meet and international exhibition held in Dubai in order to expands our market beyond the national boundaries and establish relationship with new customers.

Next day I counted only 48 hours left before flight and so much to cover as Dubai is full of attractions so we decided to see and explore the main attractions of dubai and nearby areas. We decided to talk a long drive in desert storm and see the skyline.I was so keen to wear the Sheikh suit and drive along the open desert with my colleagues. We really enjoyed the Non vegetarian food served to us and having great time altogether.
Clicking from the top of the world
I would conclude my experience and say Dubai is great place to live and very neat, clean city plus the people feel really responsible and believe in keeping their city clean and care about others. There is so much to explore in Dubai and it will take at least 4-5 days if travelling with family. I would like to come back again to Dubai some other day to discover whats more in Dubai and their culture and traditions.
